COMMITTEES

Our community will have such standing committees as are deemed necessary by our parish.
It may also have ad hoc committees as necessary.

Community Activities
Develop and organize special social events that provide the opportunity to come together as an increasingly cohesive community and to help community members to get to know each other in an informal and social setting.

Facilities and Grounds
Oversee the physical resources of the community so as to maximize their current and future value to the community.

Faith Formation
Implement our parish mission statement which states: "To provide a dynamic, scripture-based program of religious formation which enables us to understand the Christian message and our religious traditions and which prepares us for the challenges of Christian living." The committee oversees religious formation for community members of all ages.

Finance
Oversee the financial resources of the community so as to maximize their current and future value to the community. Develop a plan, and direct the effort to generate philanthropic support from members and friends to nuture the St. Francis Xavier faith community and enhance its capacity to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Gospel of Life
Take the necessary steps, in a caring, loving, and nurturing way, to assure that the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier becomes a leading voice in the archdiocese for the unborn millions who have been silenced by abortion. The committee will base the approach and philosophy on the Holy Father's "Gospel of Life." This committee actively supports the local pregnancy center by supplying them with much needed baby items. Liturgy
Plan and facilitate the liturgy and related services. in an environment that encourages personal spiritual growth.

Mission and Planning
Foster a strong sense of Christian community at the Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier supported by effective leadership, active participation and community governance.

Outreach & Advocacy
Implement our parish mission statement, which states: "To maintain an active outreach program that responds compassionately to the needs of the disadvantaged and the members of the community."

Youth Ministry
Incorporate young people from sixth to twelfth grade and their families in the full range of community activities. The philosophy is three-fold: to help young people to connect with God; to encourage them to put their faith into action; and to provide them with a safe place where they can express themselves, search for answers, and, perhaps, find a few more questions. "

Caring & Sharing Ministry
Provide support to community members during times of need or special occasions.
