“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
– Acts 1:8
The sacrament of Confirmation builds on the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. It completes the process of initiation into the Catholic community and strengthens our ability to be witnesses of Jesus Christ. It is not a sacrament of graduation but rather a sacrament of affirmation empowering candidates to be more receptive to the gifts God gives them and better understand the depths of God’s love for each of them.
Our high schoolers PREPARE in the Fall with catechetical lessons, PRACTICE their faith through service and worship, CONFIRM their decision with the Bishop and community, and then WITNESS to the next group of candidates the following year by becoming peer ministers.
