We invite all youth who are in at least 9th grade to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation!
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are needed for us to live as mature Christians. We are called to witness our faith to others.
Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier’s Confirmation program prepares our young people’s hearts for the Sacrament of Confirmation by teaching them through liturgy, words, experiences, and actions of what it means to be a disciple in our community.
This is an exciting time in your faith journey, and we are excited to take this journey with you. It is a time to ask questions, to take a deeper dive into your faith and a chance to grow closer to your peers and church communities as you seek an encounter with God. It is also an opportunity to build and strengthen relationships rooted in Christ and a challenge to see Christ in those around your parish through service in a parish ministry. Come join us!
REGISTRATION FOR FALL 2026 – SPRING 2027 (Confirmation in Spring of 2027) COMING SOON!
Please email Fr. Xavier at [email protected] or call the Parish Office (410-785-0356) with any questions.
An Announcement Regarding Confirmation:
In keeping with his ongoing desire to better support families in the journey of faith, Archbishop Lori has announced his decision to change the standard age of Confirmation in our Archdiocese. Over the course of the next several years, all parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore will undergo a process of transition, shifting from the typical time of Confirmation down to the age of 9 years (roughly 4th grade).
Our parish/pastorate is not scheduled to begin the phase-in process until the fall of 2027, and it could take several years to complete the change. We will be in communication about when and how this change will unfold in our community. For more information about the upcoming change in Confirmation age, please see the “Frequently Asked Questions” enclosed in the bulletin.
A note on youth ministry: As this change takes place, we will not lose sight of the importance of catechesis and accompaniment for our middle and high school youth. In light of the relocation of Confirmation preparation, the Archdiocese is also guiding intentional efforts to revitalize and recalibrate youth ministry to the needs and gifts of today’s Gen Z and Gen Alpha young people. More information about these efforts at our local level will be available in the coming months.
