Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We have a beautiful church located in the bucolic horse country of Hunt Valley, Maryland. We welcome the opportunity to have your special day here.

Here’s what you need to do to get the process started:

(1) Call the Parish Office

Call the Parish Office at 410-785-0356 and ask for Jan Kratfel or email [email protected] with contact information, approximately when you would like to be married, and type of ceremony you would like. If you don’t know what type of ceremony you would like, a Mass or a shorter ceremony, you can discuss it with your celebrant when you meet. Please contact us at least six months before your ceremony so you will have time for marriage preparation.

(2) Meet with a Priest or Deacon.

Once we have gotten your basic information, the next step is to meet with a priest or deacon. If you are a registered member here at St. Francis Xavier, Fr. Frank Brauer* or Deacon Don Murray can perform your ceremony. If you are a member of another parish, you are welcomed to have your ceremony here, but you must provide your own celebrant. Once you meet with your celebrant, and he has agreed to perform your ceremony, we enter your date in our church calendar.

*  Fr. Frank is on sabbatical January 21st – April 27th.

(3) Explore Marriage Prep

Marriage Prep is a time for you to reflect on what’s important to you, talk with other couples who have been down this road, and is a great way to prepare you for the challenges of day-to-day life after the honeymoon. Marriage preparation is offered two ways:

Sponsor Couple Program: A couple from our parish meets with you and offers guidance how to make your upcoming marriage a success. This program is for St. Francis parish members only. Contact Mary Cohn at the Parish Office – [email protected]  to learn more about the Sponsor Couple program.

(4) Connect with our Music Director

Please email our Music Director, Julie Grace Males – [email protected] to discuss music at your wedding. Skilled cantors and accompanists are available. There are certain guidelines to be aware to ensure your ceremony is as beautiful as possible.
