SPECIAL MOTHERS’ DAY MESSAGE

Dear Friends and Parishioners,

As we gather today to celebrate Mother’s Day, we honor and uplift the remarkable women in our midst who embody the spirit of love, grace, and selflessness. Today is a special opportunity to express our gratitude for the mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures who have shaped our lives in profound ways.

I can tell from experience that mothers hold a unique place in our hearts and in the tapestry of our faith communities. They are the nurturers, the caregivers, and the spiritual pillars upon which we lean in times of joy and in moments of trial. Their unwavering love reflects the boundless compassion of our Heavenly Father, and their tireless devotion echoes His eternal care for each of us.

In Proverbs 31:28, we are reminded to honor and rise up to call our mothers blessed. Today, let us not only honor our own mothers but also extend our appreciation to all women who have embraced the calling of motherhood in its various forms. Whether they have borne children, opened their hearts to adoptive or foster children, or served as mentors and role models, their impact is immeasurable.

We also recognize that Mother’s Day can evoke a range of emotions for many among us. For those who have lost their beloved mothers like myself, for those who long to be mothers but face challenges on that journey, and for those who carry the weight of strained relationships, this day may stir tender emotions. Let us hold each other in love and compassion, offering support and solace to those who may find this day difficult.

To all the mothers in our congregation, on behalf of our parish family, I  want to express my deepest gratitude for your tireless love, your steadfast faith, and your unwavering commitment to your families and our community. You are cherished, valued, and honored not only today but every day. May God’s abundant blessings be upon you, dear mothers, today and always, Amen.

With love and appreciation,

Fr. Ferdinand Ezenwachi
